"Introduction to the Water Integrity Network" with John Butterworth

TI/TCD Workshop, Dublin - 8 July, 2008

TI is one of five NGOs fighting corruption in the management of the world’s most important resource. This full day workshop will introduce you to the work of the WIN and new tools developed employed and tools for fighting corruption in water and sanitation services.

Objectives:

  • Understanding different types of corruption and their effects on WASH service delivery and IWRM
  • Awareness of tools and approaches that can be used to improve access to information, transparency, accountability and help prevent corruption in these areas

Dr John Butterworth is Development and Advocacy Officer of the IRC, a Water Integrity Network partner. Before joining the IRC, John worked with the Natural Resources Institute (NRI) at the University of Greenwich, UK, where he was a water management specialist. He has also worked for the UK Department for International Development (DFID), the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, and for Scott Wilson Resource Consultants with experience in southern Africa, India and Bolivia.
